Biographies: Thayne Dibble

Thayne Alexandra Dibble(dancer) joined Jeanne Ruddy Dance in 2006. She began her training as a dancer when she was three years old, studying classical ballet with Dede Barfield, Alexei Borovik, Alexei Charov, Natalia Charova, Michael Sheridan and Francesca Corkle. Thayne has also studied ballet and jazz in New York City at the Joffrey Ballet School and modern dance at the Ailey School, where she performed an excerpt from Thaddeus Davis’ Pain Inside of Confidence.

Thayne has performed with the Pennsylvania Ballet in its productions of The Nutcracker Suite, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo and Juliet, Sleeping Beauty and Giselle. She also danced for 12 years with the Children’s Ballet Theater in Philadelphia. In 2007, Thayne performed Mary Anthony’s Women of Troy during Dancefusion’s 20th Anniversary Concert and last year she joined Dancefusion again to perform Mary Anthony’s Seascape and Daniel Maloney’s Bopping.

In addition to dance, Thayne has studied acting at the Walnut Street Theatre. She appeared in the touring production of Evita at the Merriam Theater in 1999. She has also studied Shakespeare and theater in London, and last summer she studied yoga in Mysore, India. Thayne is an undergraduate student at the University of Pennsylvania, with a major in Classical Studies and a minor in Math.
