Biographies: Rick Callender
Rick Callender (dancer) A native of Miami, Florida, Rick began his dance training at age fifteen, attending the New World School of the Arts and the Martha Mahr School of Ballet. He has received scholarships to numerous dance schools throughout the country, including Pennsylvania Ballet and Pacific Northwest Ballet. He has danced professionally with the Washington Ballet, the Fort Worth-Dallas Ballet, Suzanne Farrell Ballet, Miro Dance Theater and BalletX.
He has enjoyed dancing many featured roles throughout his career and has worked with many notable choreographers such as Stanton Welch, Tony Rizzi, Robert Battle, Jane Comfort and Johannes Weiland. He is happily married to Meredith Reffner of the Pennsylvania Ballet and is the proud father of a little girl, Lorelei.
This is Rick’s sixth season with Jeanne Ruddy Dance.
