Jeanne Ruddy Dance Receives Theater Subsidy Grant
Jeanne Ruddy Dance is honored to receive a $7,500 grant from Dance/USA Philadelphia. Funding was based on a first-come, first-served basis, and JRD was one out of ten dance companies awarded funding through Dance/USA Philadelphia’s Theater Rental Subsidy Program.
This generous grant allows the Company to perform its Tenth Anniversary Concert Season at The Wilma Theater in downtown Philadelphia.
Jeanne Ruddy Dance would like to thank Dance/USA Philadelphia for their support.
Jeanne Ruddy Dance Receives Grant from the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance
Jeanne Ruddy Dance was one of eleven arts groups in Philadelphia to receive federal stimulus funding from the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance.
The $15,000 grant was awarded as part of a $50 million federal stimulus package being allocated by the National Endowment of the Arts in support of job recovery programs for nonprofit, local and state public arts agencies.
This one-time grant will provide salary support for a single administrative position within the Company, which is critical to the smooth functioning of business.
Jeanne Ruddy Dance would like to thank the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance and the City of Philadelphia for their generous funding. Read the full article . . .
April 27 and 28th we hosted, along with Dance USA/Philadelphia, two days of the first Philadelphia Presenter Showcase Conference. It was an incredible experience having 22 Philadelphia dance companies perform every half hour for 20 presenters who traveled from all over to see the work for possible bookings. There were about 200 dancers in and out (performing) in the Garage over the two days.
For me, it was a dream come true to see all these wonderful dancers, performing their hearts out, for the assembled crew of presenters....the place was absolutely popping with energy.
May 1, 2009, Jeanne Ruddy taught a Master Class with 35 high school students from Toms River, NJ. They traveled to The Performance Garage to experience a professional class and to ask questions of Jeanne and Christine Taylor, company member and rehearsal director.
Jeanne Ruddy Dance is very excited to be included in WHYY's Arts & Culture "Experience" series. This collections of "video postcards" introduces the Delaware Valley viewers to the rich culture of our area.
