Biographies: Paul Struck

Paul Struck has danced professionally for twenty years. His training began in Pensacola, Florida, where he studied and performed tap, jazz and theater dance. He began modern dance training in college with a focus on the techniques of Jose Limon and Doris Humphrey.

In 1984, Mr. Struck moved to Philadelphia and joined Dancetellers under the direction of Trina Collins, where he toured extensively, both nationally and internationally. He remained with the company for thirteen years until 1997. He is a certified Laban Movement Analysist and incorporates that into his own movement. He has performed with the dance companies of Group Motion and Melanie Stewart Dance Company, as well as many independent choreographers.

Mr. Struck has also studied Butoh with master Masaki Iwanna. He played “hostess” for the First Annual Rocky Awards in Philadelphia. In November 2003, Mr. Struck performed in the Philadelphia production of “From the Horse’s Mouth” at The Painted Bride Art Center, where he “dazzled” and “danced…with wicked hilarity” (The Philadelphia Inquirer).
